Not all Android tablets support SIM cards. To use a SIM card, look for tablets with a dedicated SIM slot and cellular connectivity features, such as 4G LTE. Many tablets are WiFi-only, so double-check the product details for terms like "SIM slot," "LTE," or "cellular." If you're unsure, review the specifications or ask a Walmart associate for help. Using a SIM card allows you to access mobile data and, in some cases, make calls or send texts, depending on the tablet's capabilities and your carrier's support.

• Insert your SIM card into the tablet's SIM slot, following the instructions in the user manual.
• Power on the tablet and go to Settings > Network & Internet.
• Select Mobile Network and ensure mobile data is enabled.
• Your tablet may automatically detect carrier settings, but you might need to enter APN details provided by your carrier.
• If you have trouble connecting, restart your tablet or contact your carrier for assistance. Mobile data setup steps can vary by device and carrier, so refer to your tablet's guide for details.

If your tablet doesn't recognize the SIM card, try these steps:

• Power off the tablet and reinsert the SIM card, making sure it's properly seated.
• Check that the SIM card is active and compatible with your tablet's network bands.
• Go to Settings > Network & Internet to see if the SIM is detected.
• Test the SIM card in another device to rule out card issues.
• If problems persist, contact your carrier or the tablet manufacturer for support. Compatibility and activation are common reasons for SIM issues.

Some Android tablets with SIM slots support voice calling, but not all do. It depends on the tablet's hardware and software features. If calling is supported, you’ll find a phone or dialer app pre-installed. Otherwise, you can use messaging or calling apps over mobile data or WiFi. Always check the product details or user manual to confirm calling capabilities. For tablets without native calling, third-party apps can offer voice and video calls using your data connection.

It's generally recommended to power off your tablet before removing or inserting a SIM card. Removing the SIM while the device is on can sometimes cause errors or disrupt network connections. If you need to swap SIM cards, turn off the tablet first to help prevent data loss or hardware issues. Always handle SIM cards carefully to avoid damaging the card or the slot.
