Using a UV nail lamp for shellac is straightforward, but following these steps can help you get better results:

• Start by applying your shellac polish according to the product directions.
• Place your hand under the lamp, making sure your nails are directly under the light.
• Select the appropriate timer setting, often between 30 to 120 seconds, based on your polish's instructions.
• Keep your hand still during the curing process for an even finish.
• After curing, carefully remove your hand and repeat for the other hand if needed. Refer to your lamp's manual for any specific instructions your model may have.

UV nail lamps are designed to cure gel or shellac polishes, not standard nail polish. Regular nail polish air-dries and won't harden with UV or LED light exposure. For best results, use these lamps with gel, shellac, or compatible polishes specifically labeled for light curing. If you try to use them with regular polish, it may not dry properly or could lead to smudging. Always check your polish’s packaging to confirm compatibility for optimal results.

Keeping your shellac curing lamp clean helps it last longer and work efficiently. To clean it:

• Unplug the lamp and let it cool completely.
• Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust or polish residues.
• Use a gentle, slightly damp cloth (never wet) for sticky spots.
• Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive pads, as these can damage the lamp’s surface or sensors.
• Make sure the lamp is fully dry before plugging it back in. Regular cleaning can keep your curing lamp performing its best.

When choosing a nail curing lamp, consider these useful features to match your needs:

• Multiple Timer Settings: Lets you control curing time for different polishes.
• Sensor Activation: Automatically turns the lamp on/off when you place your hand inside.
• Portable Design: Helpful for on-the-go or for saving space at home.
• LED or UV Compatibility: Ensures the lamp works with your preferred nail products.
• Removable Tray: Makes cleaning easier and accommodates both hands or feet.

Review the product details for these features before buying to pick the best option for your routine.

UV and LED nail lamps are designed for home and salon use, but it’s smart to follow a few safety tips:

• Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for safe operation.
• Avoid looking directly at the light during use to protect your eyes.
• Don’t use the lamp on broken or irritated skin.
• Unplug the device when cleaning or not in use.
• If you have concerns or unique sensitivities, consult a professional before using any UV product.

Practicing these habits can help ensure you’re using your lamp safely at home.
