Choosing the right safe box size depends on what you plan to store.

• If you're just keeping spare keys, a compact lock box works well.
• For storing documents, cash, or multiple items, consider a larger safe box with extra compartments.
• Think about future needs—if you might add more items later, go bigger.
• Check product descriptions for internal dimensions and capacity.

It's a good idea to measure your items before shopping so you know they'll fit comfortably. Walmart offers a variety of sizes to suit different needs.

Many key lock boxes are designed for outdoor use, but it's important to check for weatherproof features.

• Look for boxes made from durable materials like steel or heavy-duty plastic.
• Weather-resistant coatings and tight seals help protect keys from moisture and rust.
• Some models have removable shackles or mounting options for easy installation.

Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for placement and maintenance to keep your keys secure and protected from the elements.

Installing a lock box is usually straightforward.

1. Pick a discreet but accessible location, like near your door or garage.
2. Use the mounting hardware provided—most boxes include screws and anchors.
3. Drill pilot holes for easier installation and a snug fit.
4. Double-check that the box is firmly attached and doesn’t wobble.

For portable lock boxes, simply attach the shackle to a sturdy fixture. Always follow the product's instructions for safe and secure installation.

Resetting the combination varies by model, but most boxes have a simple process.

• Open the box using your current code.
• Find the reset lever or button inside.
• Follow the steps in the manual to set a new code—usually turning dials or pressing buttons.
• Test your new combination before closing the box.

If you lose your code, some boxes offer backup keys or instructions for recovery. Always keep your new combination in a safe place.

To keep your safe box secure, consider these tips:

• Choose a location that's hidden from plain view but easy for authorized users to access.
• Regularly update your combination or access code.
• Check for signs of wear or tampering and replace if needed.
• Don’t share your code with anyone you don’t trust.

Routine maintenance and careful placement can help your safe box stay secure and functional for years.
