To check if an RF remote will work with your devices, start by looking at your device's manual or settings to see if it supports RF (radio frequency) control. Many home entertainment systems, set-top boxes, and smart devices list compatible remote types. If your device mentions IR, Bluetooth, or RF compatibility, you're likely good to go. For universal remotes, check the product details for supported brands and device types. If you're unsure, you can always bring your device info to your local Walmart store or contact customer support for guidance.

IR (infrared) remotes need a direct line of sight to your device, so you have to point them right at it. RF (radio frequency) remotes, on the other hand, can work through walls and furniture, giving you more flexibility in where you use them. Some universal remotes even combine both, letting you control a wider range of devices. If you want to control equipment hidden in cabinets or from another room, RF remotes can make things a lot easier.

Many universal remotes are designed to control multiple devices, like TVs, streaming boxes, sound systems, and even smart home gadgets. Look for remotes that mention compatibility with IR, Bluetooth, and RF devices for the broadest coverage. You’ll usually need to follow setup instructions to pair each device, which can involve entering codes or using an app. This can help reduce clutter and make your entertainment setup simpler to use.

1. Insert the required batteries and turn on the remote.
2. Follow the included instructions to put the remote into pairing or programming mode. This might involve pressing certain buttons or using a setup app.
3. Enter the code for your device or use the auto-search feature if available.
4. Test the remote to make sure it controls your device as expected.

Setup steps can vary by model, so always check the manual for details. If you run into trouble, Walmart’s customer support or in-store associates can help you get things working.

• Check the batteries: Replace them with fresh ones to rule out power issues.
• Re-pair the remote: Some remotes may lose their connection and need to be paired again. Follow the setup instructions for your model.
• Remove obstacles: While RF remotes work through walls, thick barriers or interference from other electronics can sometimes cause problems.
• Consult the manual: Troubleshooting steps are often included in the product guide.

If these steps don’t help, you can visit your local Walmart store or reach out to customer service for more support.
