Racquetball and racketball are often confused, but they're actually two different sports. Racquetball is more popular in North America and uses a larger, bouncier ball and a stringed racquet. Racketball (with a 'k') is mainly played in the UK, uses a smaller court, and the ball is less bouncy. The rules and scoring systems also vary between the two. If you're shopping for balls here, you're most likely looking for racquetball equipment, which is designed for the American version of the game.

In racquetball, the ball is simply called a racquetball. It's a small, hollow rubber ball designed to be lightweight and bouncy. The standard color is blue, but you might also see red, green, black, or even multi-colored options. Each color can indicate different speeds or visibility, so you can choose what works best for your playing style or environment.

Racquetball and pickleball are both fast-paced sports, but they have some key differences.

• Racquetball is played indoors on a four-walled court with a rubber ball and stringed racquet. The ball can hit any wall, making for dynamic rallies.
• Pickleball is usually played outdoors on a court similar to badminton, using a paddle and a plastic ball with holes. The rules and scoring are different, and the gameplay is less about wall rebounds and more about net play.

Racquetball was extremely popular in past decades, but interest has shifted for a few reasons:

• Some gyms have replaced racquetball courts with spaces for other activities.
• Newer sports like pickleball have gained popularity.
• Changing fitness trends and limited court availability can make it harder to find places to play.

Choosing the right racquetball ball depends on your playing style and environment.

• Color: Blue is standard for most games, while red or green balls are often used for faster play or better visibility.
• Skill level: Beginners might prefer balls with higher bounce, while advanced players may opt for tournament-quality options.
• Indoor vs. outdoor: Some balls are designed specifically for outdoor use and are more durable.
