Puffy mints are commonly known as soft peppermint puffs or peppermint puff candy. These treats are recognized for their airy texture and gentle peppermint flavor. You’ll often find them individually wrapped, making them perfect for sharing at events, filling candy bowls, or gifting during holidays. If you’re browsing at Walmart, look for terms like 'soft peppermint puffs,' 'melt-away mints,' or 'peppermint candy puffs' to find a variety of options.

Puffy mints are crafted by aerating a sugar-based mixture and adding peppermint flavor. Here’s a general overview:

• Sugar and corn syrup are heated and blended.
• The mixture is whipped to introduce air, giving the candy its soft, melt-away texture.
• Peppermint flavor and coloring are added.
• The candy is shaped into puffs and cooled before being individually wrapped.

While the process can vary by manufacturer, this method creates the signature lightness and refreshing taste of puffy mints.

Most puffy mints contain a handful of simple ingredients. You’ll typically find:

• Sugar
• Corn syrup
• Peppermint oil or flavor
• Artificial or natural coloring

Some varieties are allergen-free, gluten-free, non-GMO, or kosher. Always check the packaging for specific ingredient details and allergen information if you have dietary concerns.

Puffy mints are a sweet treat, so they’re best enjoyed in moderation. Many options are allergen-free, gluten-free, and non-GMO, which can be helpful for those with dietary restrictions. However, they’re primarily made of sugar and don’t offer significant nutritional benefits. If you’re looking for a peppermint candy with fewer additives, check the ingredient list for simple, recognizable components.

Puffy mints are versatile beyond snacking! Here are some creative ways to use them:

• Decorate baked goods: Crush them and sprinkle over cakes, cupcakes, or brownies.
• Holiday treats: Add them to gift bags or stocking stuffers.
• Office bowls: Keep them handy for guests or coworkers.
• Party favors: Include them in event goodie bags.

These mints add a festive touch and a refreshing flavor to many occasions.
