Choosing the right size plastic crawfish depends on the type of fish you're targeting and the water conditions.

• Smaller sizes (around 2-3 inches) can be great for finesse fishing or when fish are less active.
• Larger sizes (4 inches and up) may attract bigger fish or work well in murky water where visibility is low.

Consider matching the size to the local forage and the preferences of the fish in your area. If you're unsure, starting with a mid-sized option can offer versatility for different situations.

There are several popular ways to rig a plastic crawfish, and the best method can depend on your fishing style and conditions.

• Texas rig: Great for fishing in heavy cover, as it helps prevent snags.
• Jig trailer: Attach the crawfish to a jig for a lifelike presentation on the bottom.
• Carolina rig: Useful for covering more water and fishing deeper areas.

Experimenting with different rigs can help you find what works best for your local waters and target species.

Plastic crawfish lures are versatile and can be used in both lakes and rivers.

• In lakes, try fishing near rocks, weed beds, or drop-offs where real crawfish might hide.
• In rivers, focus on slower-moving pools, eddies, or behind structure where fish often wait for food to drift by.

Adjust your retrieval speed and rigging style to match the current and depth for the best results.

Proper storage helps keep your plastic crawfish lures in good shape.

• Keep different colors and types in separate compartments or bags to prevent color bleeding and sticking.
• Store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to avoid warping or fading.
• Some materials can react if mixed, so check packaging for any special instructions.

Organized storage makes it easier to find the right lure when you’re out on the water.

Plastic crawfish lures are a popular choice for bass fishing because they mimic a natural food source.

• Their lifelike movement and appearance can trigger strikes from both largemouth and smallmouth bass.
• They’re effective in a variety of conditions, from shallow cover to deeper structure.

While results can vary based on location and technique, many anglers find plastic crawfish to be a reliable option in their tackle box.
