Plastic button badges are often referred to as pin badges, name tags, or ID badges. Depending on their use, you might also see terms like magnetic badge holders or badge blanks for customizable options. These badges are popular for events, workplaces, schools, and crafting projects because they're lightweight, durable, and easy to personalize.

• Pin-back badges: These use a safety pin or metal pin to attach to clothing.
• Magnetic badges: Feature a magnetic backing, ideal for avoiding holes in fabric.
• Snap-on badges: Use plastic snaps for easy attachment and removal.
• Blank badge kits: Designed for DIY customization, often used for crafts or events.
• Expiring badges: Used for visitor management, with a tab that changes color over time.

Each type serves a different purpose, so consider your needs before choosing.

To help prevent button badges from falling off, try these tips:

• Use magnetic badge holders if you want to avoid pin holes and get a secure grip.
• Check the pin mechanism for tightness before wearing.
• Attach badges to thicker fabrics for better hold.
• Consider badge protector covers for added security, especially during active events.

These steps can help reduce the chances of losing your badge, but results may vary depending on usage and clothing type.

The most common button badge sizes are 1 inch, 1.3 inches, and 2.3 inches for round pin badges, while name tags typically measure 3 x 1 inches or 4 x 3 inches. These sizes are popular because they’re easy to read and comfortable to wear at events, offices, and conferences. If you’re customizing badges, these standard sizes are a great starting point.
