Choosing seashells for crafts depends on your project and style. Consider these tips:

• Size: Larger shells work well for painting or as statement pieces, while smaller ones are great for detailed designs or vase fillers.
• Shape: Scallop, conch, and starfish shapes each add a unique look. Mix and match for variety.
• Color: Natural shells come in whites, creams, and subtle pinks, which can complement most decor themes.
• Quantity: Bulk sets are ideal for bigger projects or parties.

Think about your craft’s purpose and pick shells that fit your vision.

Many natural ocean shells are used for aquarium decor, but it’s important to check if they’re safe for your specific tank. Here’s what to consider:

• Material: Some shells can alter water chemistry, especially in freshwater tanks, by raising pH or hardness.
• Preparation: Rinse shells thoroughly with warm water (no soap) before placing them in your tank.
• Fish Type: Research if your fish species are compatible with shells.

When in doubt, consult aquarium care resources or a pet specialist for guidance.

To clean natural seashells for crafts or decor, follow these steps:

1. Rinse shells under warm running water to remove sand and debris.
2. Soak them in a mixture of water and a small amount of mild dish soap for about 10-15 minutes.
3. Use a soft brush or old toothbrush to gently scrub away any remaining residue.
4. Rinse thoroughly and let them air dry on a towel.

Avoid using harsh chemicals or boiling, as this can damage the shells’ natural finish.

Ocean shells are a popular choice for wedding and party decorations, especially for beach or coastal themes. They can be used in various ways:

• Table centerpieces or vase fillers
• Scattered along tables for a natural touch
• Incorporated into DIY favors or place cards
• Added to floral arrangements for extra texture

Mixing different sizes and shapes can create a unique and memorable look for your event.

To keep your leftover seashells in good condition, store them in a cool, dry place. Here are some tips:

• Use a breathable container, like a mesh bag or cardboard box, to prevent moisture buildup.
• Keep them out of direct sunlight to avoid fading.
• If shells are painted or decorated, wrap them in tissue paper to prevent scratches.

Proper storage helps maintain their natural beauty for future projects or decor ideas.
