About Model Rockets
Do model rockets have any age restrictions?
Typically, model rockets are designed for children who are at least 8 years of age and under adult supervision. Small parts present a choking hazard to younger children.
What features should I look for?
Easy assembly, easy in-flight tracking, the ability to fly 700 feet or more (model-dependent), parachute recovery, decorative water slide decal embellishments, laser-cut wood fins and an included illustrated assembly are some of the available features on some models.
What are the drawbacks?
Among the drawbacks on some model engines are the lack of specialized hobby tools, decorative paint, igniters, engines, launch system and hobby glue. Without these items, the rocket will not be able to fly. Moreover, as specified by the manufacturer, materials will vary by model. It is recommended that you read the description of each kit carefully before purchasing.
