Connecting a Surface mouse is pretty straightforward. Most Surface mice use Bluetooth, so you’ll want to:

1. Turn on your mouse by pressing the power button.
2. On your laptop, open Bluetooth settings and make sure Bluetooth is enabled.
3. Press and hold the pairing button on the mouse until the light starts blinking.
4. Select the mouse from the list of available devices on your laptop and follow any prompts to finish pairing.

If your mouse uses a USB receiver, just plug it into your laptop’s USB port and it should connect automatically.

Yes, most Surface mice are designed to work with a variety of devices, not just Microsoft products. As long as your device supports Bluetooth or has a compatible USB port for a wireless receiver, you should be able to connect and use the mouse. This includes many laptops, desktops, and even some tablets. Just check your device’s Bluetooth compatibility before pairing.

Keeping your Surface mouse clean helps it work smoothly. Here’s a simple way to do it:

• Turn off the mouse and remove any batteries if possible.
• Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to wipe the surface. Avoid getting moisture inside the mouse.
• For tough spots, a little mild soap on the cloth can help, but don’t use harsh chemicals.
• Let it dry completely before using it again.

Regular cleaning can help maintain performance and keep your mouse looking new.

Battery life can vary depending on the specific model and how often you use your mouse. Many Surface mice are designed to last several months on a single set of batteries, with some models offering up to a year or more. Features like Bluetooth connectivity and power-saving modes help extend battery life. For the best results, use high-quality batteries and turn off the mouse when it’s not in use.

Many Surface mice feature an ambidextrous or symmetrical design, making them comfortable for both left- and right-handed users. Some models also have programmable buttons that can be customized to suit your preferred hand. If comfort is a top priority, look for models described as "ambidextrous" or "symmetrical" in the product details to ensure a good fit for your needs.
