Micro-shears are handy tools designed for precise trimming and pruning in the garden. They're great for tasks like snipping dead leaves, shaping small plants, or harvesting herbs and flowers. Their fine, sharp blades let you make clean cuts without damaging delicate stems. Many gardeners use micro-shears for detailed work in flower beds, container gardens, or when caring for houseplants. If you enjoy keeping your plants looking their best, these shears can help you tackle those small, detailed jobs with ease.

When picking out micro-shears, consider what you'll be using them for most.

• Look for comfortable, ergonomic handles if you'll be trimming for long periods.
• Check the blade type—straight blades are good for general trimming, while curved blades can help with tight spots.
• Non-stick or titanium-coated blades can make cleaning easier and help prevent sap buildup.
• Think about the size and weight, especially if you have smaller hands or need to reach into tight spaces.

Keeping your micro-shears clean helps them last longer and work better.

1. After each use, wipe the blades with a damp cloth to remove sap and debris.
2. For sticky residue, use a little mild soap and water, then dry thoroughly.
3. Apply a drop of oil to the pivot point to keep the action smooth.
4. Store your shears in a dry place, preferably with the blades closed or locked.

Micro-shears are best for light-duty tasks like trimming small stems, leaves, and flowers. They're not designed for cutting thick branches or woody stems. For larger branches, it's safer and more effective to use heavier-duty pruners or loppers. Using micro-shears on thick material can dull or damage the blades, so it's a good idea to match the tool to the job for the best results.

Some micro-shears may offer replacement parts like springs or blades, but availability can vary by brand and model. It's a good idea to check the product packaging or the manufacturer's website for details. If you purchased your micro-shears at Walmart, you can also reach out to customer service for help finding compatible parts or to explore replacement options if needed.
