Choosing a key safe depends on where you plan to use it and how many keys you need to store.

• Location: For outdoor use, look for weather-resistant and waterproof models.
• Capacity: Consider how many keys or access cards you want to keep inside. Some safes are compact for just a few keys, while others have space for multiple sets.
• Security: Features like combination locks, digital keypads, or biometric access can add extra protection.
• Mounting: Decide if you want a portable option with a cable or a wall-mounted design for permanent placement.

Thinking about these factors can help you find a key safe that fits your needs and space.

Many key safes are designed for outdoor use, but it's important to check if the model is labeled as weather-resistant or waterproof.

• Materials: Metal or heavy-duty plastic construction helps protect against rain and humidity.
• Seals: Look for rubber gaskets or covers that shield the lock mechanism from moisture.
• Placement: Installing the safe in a sheltered spot, like under an awning, can help extend its lifespan.

While outdoor key safes are built to handle the elements, regular maintenance and proper installation can help keep your keys secure year-round.

Most key safes with combination locks allow you to reset the code, but the process can vary by model.

1. Open the safe using your current code.
2. Locate the reset lever or button inside the safe.
3. Follow the instructions provided with your product to set a new code.
4. Test the new combination several times before closing the safe.

Always keep your new code in a secure place. If you misplace the instructions, you can often find a digital copy on the manufacturer's website or contact their support for help.

Proper installation helps keep your key safe secure.

• Choose a solid surface: Mount the safe on brick, concrete, or sturdy wood for the best support.
• Use the right hardware: Most safes come with screws and anchors—use them as directed.
• Follow the instructions: Each model may have specific steps, so check the included guide.
• Test the safe: After installation, make sure the safe is firmly attached and the lock works smoothly.

If you’re unsure about installation, consider asking a professional for assistance to ensure safety and security.

Regular care can help your key safe last longer and function smoothly.

• Wipe the exterior: Use a damp cloth to remove dust and dirt from the outside.
• Clean the lock: Occasionally, use a dry brush or compressed air to clear debris from the lock mechanism.
• Avoid harsh chemicals: Stick to mild soap and water if needed, and dry thoroughly to prevent rust.
• Check for wear: Inspect the safe and lock regularly for signs of damage or corrosion.

Keeping your key safe clean and maintained can help ensure it stays reliable for everyday use.
