Computer sticks let you turn almost any screen with an HDMI port into a functional PC. Here are some common uses:

• Web browsing and streaming: Enjoy online content, check emails, or watch videos.
• Productivity: Run office apps for light work, presentations, or remote access.
• Portable computing: Carry your PC in your pocket for travel or hot-desking.
• Digital signage: Power displays for menus, ads, or information boards.

Keep in mind, performance is best for everyday tasks rather than heavy gaming or design work.

Intel-branded compute sticks have been discontinued and are no longer in production. However, you can still find similar mini PC sticks from other manufacturers that offer the same compact, plug-and-play computing experience. These alternatives often feature updated hardware and operating systems, making them a practical choice for users who want a portable desktop solution. Availability may vary, so check Walmart's selection for the latest options in this category.

A mini PC stick works by plugging directly into an HDMI port on your TV or monitor, instantly transforming it into a basic computer. Most models include built-in storage, memory, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. After connecting, just add a wireless keyboard and mouse to start browsing, streaming, or working. These devices typically run Windows or Linux, giving you a familiar desktop experience in a super compact form. They’re powered by USB or an included adapter, making setup quick and easy.

Before buying a compute stick, consider these points:

• Performance: They’re best for light tasks like browsing, streaming, or office work.
• Compatibility: Make sure your monitor or TV has an available HDMI port.
• Accessories: You’ll need a wireless keyboard and mouse for easy use.
• Storage and RAM: Check specs to ensure they meet your needs.
• Power source: Most require USB power or an included adapter.

Thinking about these factors can help you pick the right device for your setup.

While compute sticks are super portable and convenient, there are some limitations to keep in mind:

• Limited performance: They’re not designed for demanding tasks like gaming or video editing.
• Few ports: You may have fewer USB or expansion options compared to larger PCs.
• Storage space: Built-in storage is usually modest, so external drives might be needed for large files.
• Cooling: Some models are fanless, which can impact performance during heavy use.

For everyday tasks, though, they offer a lot of flexibility in a tiny package.
