Choosing the right size grid cage depends on your pet's species, size, and how many animals you plan to house. Here are a few tips:

• Check your pet's needs: Small animals like guinea pigs, rabbits, and kittens need enough space to move, play, and rest comfortably.
• Consider growth: If your pet is young, think about how big they'll get and select a cage that allows for growth.
• Room for accessories: Make sure there's space for essentials like bedding, food bowls, and toys.
• Multiple pets: If you have more than one animal, look for expandable or modular cages to give everyone enough room.

Grid cages are versatile and can work for a variety of small pets. Common animals that benefit from these cages include:

• Guinea pigs
• Rabbits
• Hamsters
• Ferrets
• Small birds (with proper spacing)
• Kittens and puppies (for playpens)

Always check the bar spacing to make sure your pet can't squeeze through or get stuck. For birds and very small animals, look for cages with tighter grids for safety.

Setting up a grid cage is usually straightforward and can be a fun DIY project. Here’s a simple approach:

1. Lay out all panels and connectors so you know what you have.
2. Assemble the base first, connecting panels to form the floor and sides.
3. Add a waterproof liner or tray to protect your floors and make cleaning easier.
4. Secure all connections and check for stability before adding your pet.
5. Finish with bedding, food, water, and toys to create a comfortable environment.

Always follow the included instructions for your specific cage model.

Keeping your grid cage clean helps your pet stay healthy and comfortable. Here’s a general cleaning routine:

• Remove your pet and all accessories before cleaning.
• Take out bedding and liners for washing or replacement.
• Wipe down panels with a pet-safe cleaner or mild soap and water.
• Rinse thoroughly to remove any residue.
• Dry all parts completely before reassembling and adding fresh bedding.

Regular spot cleaning in between deep cleans can help keep odors and mess under control.

Many grid cages are designed to be expandable and customizable. You can often add extra panels or rearrange the layout to fit your space or your pet’s needs. Some ideas include:

• Creating multiple levels for more exercise and enrichment.
• Adding doors or ramps for easy access.
• Combining panels to make larger play areas or separate sections for multiple pets.

Just make sure all connections are secure and safe for your pet before use.
