When creating a gallery wall, the main guideline is to keep consistent spacing between frames—usually 2 to 3 inches works well.

• Start by laying out your frames on the floor to find an arrangement you like.
• Mix different sizes and shapes, but try to keep a common theme, like color or frame style, for a cohesive look.
• Use templates or painter’s tape to mark spots before hanging.

This approach helps your gallery wall feel organized without being too rigid, making your space feel inviting and personal.

Gallery walls remain a favorite way to personalize home decor.

• They’re flexible, letting you showcase photos, art, or keepsakes.
• Trends in 2026 lean toward mixing frame finishes and adding unique items like mirrors or small shelves.
• People love gallery walls because they’re easy to update and adapt as your style changes.

Whether you’re decorating a living room, hallway, or bedroom, gallery walls are still a stylish option for expressing your personality.

Common gallery wall mistakes include:

• Hanging frames too high or too low—aim for eye level.
• Using mismatched spacing, which can make the wall feel cluttered.
• Skipping the layout step—always plan before you hang.
• Choosing frames that clash with your room’s style.

Taking time to plan and measure helps your gallery wall look polished and balanced, making your decor feel intentional and welcoming.

Choosing frames for your gallery wall depends on your room’s vibe and the artwork you want to display.

• Consider mixing sizes for visual interest.
• Stick to a color palette or material that matches your decor.
• Think about the matting—mats can highlight photos and create a clean look.

Frames with safety plexiglass are a smart choice, especially in busy areas or kids’ rooms. Ultimately, pick frames that make your wall feel uniquely yours.

Absolutely! Mixing frame colors can add depth and personality to your gallery wall.

• Try grouping similar tones, like black and gold, for a modern look.
• Vintage or rustic frames can be blended with sleek styles for an eclectic feel.
• Just keep a few elements consistent, like mat color or spacing, so the wall feels unified.

Experimenting with color lets you create a gallery wall that’s both stylish and meaningful for your space.
