Indoor fly traps use a combination of light and sticky surfaces to attract and capture flying insects like house flies, fruit flies, and gnats. The soft blue light draws insects toward the device, where they land on a sticky cartridge or ribbon. Once trapped, the insects can't escape, helping reduce their presence in your home. These traps are designed to be mess-free and easy to use, making them a convenient option for kitchens, living rooms, or anywhere flies are a nuisance.

• Near entry points: Place traps close to doors or windows where insects often enter.
• Food prep areas: Set traps in kitchens or near fruit bowls to target fruit flies.
• High-traffic spots: Position traps in areas where you notice the most insect activity.

It's best to avoid placing traps in direct sunlight or near vents, as this can reduce their effectiveness. Always follow the instructions provided with your trap for optimal placement.

Some fly traps are designed specifically for outdoor use, such as hanging traps that can be placed in patios or gardens. Check the product packaging to see if it's suitable for outdoor environments. Outdoor traps often use attractants or resin to lure flies, and they're built to withstand weather conditions. If you're looking to control flies outside, make sure to select a trap labeled for outdoor use and follow all safety guidelines.

Replacement frequency depends on the type of fly trap and the level of insect activity in your home. Most sticky cartridges or ribbons should be changed every few weeks, or when they're visibly full of insects. Some traps include refill packs for easy maintenance. Always refer to the instructions that come with your trap for specific guidance, and keep an eye on the trap to ensure it's working efficiently.

Many fly traps are designed to be safe for use in homes with pets and children, especially those that use enclosed sticky cartridges or light-based attractants. It's important to place traps out of reach and follow all safety instructions provided by the manufacturer. Avoid using traps with exposed sticky surfaces in areas where pets or kids might touch them. If you have concerns, look for traps with protective housings and always supervise their use in family spaces.
