Fly Catcher(1000+)

The right fly catcher depends on the fly and where you’re seeing them.

• Living areas: Plug-in light traps run quietly and continually, drawing house flies and gnats to a hidden glue card.
• Windows & sills: Low-profile window traps catch flies where they land without taking up space.
• Kitchens: Fruit fly lures are formulated for small fruit flies around produce and drains.
• Garages & patios: Hanging sticky traps or baited containers are better where airflow is higher.

For best results, match the trap to the fly type, place it near activity (not over food prep areas), and refresh glue cards or lures as directed. Traps can reduce fly numbers, but results vary with placement and sanitation.

For a quick, low-effort fruit fly catcher, this household method can help:

1. Set bait: Pour a small amount of apple cider vinegar into a cup or jar. Add a drop of dish soap to break surface tension.
2. Cover: Stretch plastic wrap over the top and poke a few tiny holes with a toothpick.
3. Place: Set it near the source (like a fruit bowl or compost bin).
4. Refresh: Replace the liquid every day or two.

For larger house flies or heavy activity, dedicated traps sold in-store typically provide broader coverage. Keep any trap out of reach of children and pets, and avoid placing near food prep surfaces. Results can vary based on fly type and room conditions.

A short, focused blitz can make a noticeable difference:

• Remove attractants: Take out trash, cover food, clean up spills, and clear sink drains.
• Deploy multiple traps: Use a plug-in light trap in main rooms, window traps on sunny sills, and an outdoor baited trap a few yards from doorways.
• Increase airflow: A fan can disrupt flight paths so flies land on traps more often.
• Seal entry points: Close screens and doors when possible.

Combining sanitation with a few trap types can speed up results, though timing varies by infestation level and placement. If you need supplies quickly, many stores offer convenient pickup or delivery options where available.

Indoor traps can reduce fly populations when matched to the problem and placed correctly.

• Light-based traps: Helpful for continuous capture of house flies and gnats; perform best away from competing light and near activity zones.
• Window traps: Discreet adhesives that intercept flies landing on glass.
• Fruit fly lures: Target small fruit flies that hover around produce and drains.

For consistent performance, keep traps clean, replace glue cards or lures as directed, and avoid placing directly over food prep areas. Traps work best alongside good sanitation (emptying bins, wiping counters, cleaning drains). Outcomes vary by fly type, room size, and airflow.

Each style catches flies in a different way and suits different spaces:

• Light traps: Use soft light to draw flies onto a hidden glue card. Pros: low mess, continuous. Considerations: need power and periodic cartridge changes.
• Sticky traps: Ribbons, window decals, or sticks that catch on contact. Pros: no power, easy to place. Considerations: visible adhesive can collect dust; replace when full.
• Baited traps: Containers or bags with an attractant. Pros: strong draw for house flies, especially outdoors. Considerations: may have an odor; place away from living and dining areas.

Choose based on fly type, where you’ll use it, and your preference for maintenance and visibility.
