You can get creative with what you put inside a flower vase! Besides fresh flowers, consider these options:

• Artificial flowers for long-lasting color
• Greenery or branches for a natural look
• Dried flowers for a rustic vibe
• Decorative fillers like pebbles, marbles, or beads
• Fairy lights for a cozy glow

Mix and match to suit your style or the season. Just make sure any filler you choose is safe for the vase material and won’t damage fresh stems if you’re using real flowers.

To help your flowers stay fresh, try these tips:

• Trim the stems at an angle before arranging
• Use clean water and change it every couple of days
• Add flower food if available, or a small splash of clear soda
• Remove leaves below the waterline to prevent bacteria
• Keep the vase out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources

These steps can help extend the life of your bouquet, but results may vary depending on flower type and room conditions.

Vase fillers add style and help support flower stems. Some popular options include:

• Glass beads or marbles for a modern touch
• Colored stones or pebbles for a natural look
• Sand or shells for a beachy vibe
• Water beads for a fun, colorful effect
• Decorative moss for a soft, earthy feel

Choose a filler that matches your decor and is suitable for the type of flowers or plants you’re arranging.

Vase inserts come in several types to help with arranging and supporting flowers:

• Silicone grids for flexible stem placement
• Plastic or metal frogs to hold stems upright
• Foam blocks for securing artificial or fresh flowers
• Cylindrical holders for grave or memorial vases
• Glass separators for artistic arrangements

Each type offers different benefits, so you can pick what works best for your vase shape and the look you want to create.

Choosing the right vase insert depends on your needs and vase style:

• Check the vase opening size to ensure a good fit
• Decide if you want reusable or disposable inserts
• Consider the type of flowers—delicate stems may need more support
• Think about the arrangement style—grids for structured looks, foam for fuller bouquets
• Look for inserts that are easy to clean if you plan to reuse them

Matching your insert to your vase and flowers can make arranging easier and help your display look its best.
