Floating lanterns come in a few different styles, but most work by either using a small candle or LED light to create a gentle glow.

• Water lanterns are designed to float on ponds or pools, often made from lightweight, water-resistant materials.
• Sky lanterns use a small fuel cell to heat the air inside, causing them to rise and float away.
• Solar lanterns charge during the day and light up automatically at night.

Always follow the included instructions for safe and proper use, and check local guidelines before releasing lanterns outdoors.

Many floating lanterns are designed for outdoor use, but safety depends on the type and your environment.

• Water lanterns are generally safe for pools and ponds, but avoid using them in areas with strong currents or wildlife.
• Solar and LED lanterns are a safer choice for gardens and patios since they don't involve open flames.
• Sky lanterns may be restricted in some areas due to fire risk, so always check local regulations first.

Never leave lanterns unattended, and keep them away from flammable materials.

Whether you can reuse floating lanterns depends on the material and design.

• Paper water lanterns are often single-use, especially if they get wet or damaged.
• Solar and LED lanterns are typically reusable—just recharge or replace the batteries as needed.
• Always inspect lanterns for wear before reusing, and follow the care instructions provided with your purchase.

Reusing lanterns can help you get more value and enjoy multiple celebrations.

Floating lanterns add a magical touch to many events. They're popular for:

• Weddings and anniversaries
• Birthday parties
• Festivals and cultural celebrations
• Memorials and remembrance ceremonies
• Outdoor gatherings or garden parties

Their soft glow creates a peaceful, festive atmosphere, making them a favorite for both personal and community events.

Proper disposal helps protect the environment and keeps your space tidy.

• For biodegradable paper lanterns, check if your local waste service accepts them in compost or yard waste bins.
• Solar and LED lanterns should be reused when possible, or recycled according to local electronics guidelines.
• Always collect any lanterns after use, especially from water or outdoor areas, to prevent litter.

Following these steps can help you celebrate while minimizing your environmental impact.
