Flea traps use a combination of light and sticky pads to attract and capture fleas. The light draws fleas toward the trap, while the sticky pad catches them once they land. Most traps are designed for indoor use and are easy to set up—just plug them in and insert the sticky disc. These traps can help monitor flea activity and reduce their numbers, but they work best as part of a broader pest control plan. Always follow the instructions for safe placement, especially around pets and kids.

Many flea traps are designed to be pet-friendly and non-toxic, making them suitable for use in homes with animals.

• Check the packaging for safety information.
• Place traps where pets can't easily reach them to avoid accidental contact.
• Choose traps labeled as safe for pets and children.

For the best results, place flea traps in areas where fleas are most likely to be found.

1. Set traps near pet bedding or favorite resting spots.
2. Put them in rooms with carpeting or upholstered furniture.
3. Try corners and under furniture, as fleas often hide in these spots.

Sticky pads in flea traps should be replaced regularly to maintain their effectiveness.

• Most manufacturers recommend changing pads every few weeks or when they're full.
• Check the pad for buildup of insects and debris.
• Follow the instructions included with your trap for specific timing.

Many flea traps can also catch other small pests like bed bugs, moths, flies, and ants. The combination of light and sticky surfaces attracts a variety of crawling and flying insects. While flea traps are mainly for fleas, they can be a useful tool for monitoring and reducing other household pests. For targeted pest control, consider using traps designed for the specific insect you're dealing with.
