Escutcheon(1000+)

Choosing the right escutcheon size depends on your pipe's outer diameter and the wall opening. Here’s how you can decide:

• Measure the pipe’s outer diameter (OD) where the escutcheon will be installed.
• Check the size of the hole in your wall or floor to ensure the escutcheon will cover it completely.
• Look for escutcheons that list both the inner diameter (to fit snugly around the pipe) and the outer diameter (to cover the opening).

Double-check product descriptions for compatibility with your pipe type, like copper, PEX, or CPVC. If you’re unsure, bringing your measurements to the store or checking online specs can help you find the best fit.

Split escutcheons have a break or hinge, letting you install them around existing pipes without disconnecting anything. They’re great for retrofits or repairs. Solid escutcheons are one piece and usually go on before the pipe is connected or if you’re working with a loose pipe. Both types cover gaps and give a finished look, but split designs are more flexible for quick updates or replacements.

Some escutcheons, especially self-adhesive or split designs, can be installed without tools.

• Self-adhesive escutcheons stick directly to the wall—just peel and press.
• Split escutcheons often snap or slide around the pipe and don’t require screws or glue.

Keeping escutcheon plates looking good is simple.

• Wipe them regularly with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and fingerprints.
• A mild soap solution can help with tougher spots—just avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive pads, which can scratch the finish.
• For stainless steel or chrome, drying with a microfiber cloth helps prevent water spots.

Escutcheons are most commonly used to cover gaps around plumbing pipes, but they’re also handy for other uses.

• They can finish off holes for radiator pipes, electrical conduit, or even some HVAC lines.
• Escutcheons help create a clean look wherever pipes or tubes pass through walls, floors, or ceilings.
