You may be able to use your phone as a TV remote, depending on your phone and TV. Here are common options:

• IR blaster: If your phone has an infrared (IR) emitter, install a universal remote app and follow the in-app setup to test power/volume/input.
• Wi‑Fi control: Some TVs support control over your home network. Connect your phone and TV to the same Wi‑Fi, then use a compatible control app. Settings names vary by model.
• Connected devices: Certain streaming devices and soundbars can pass basic TV commands (power/volume) via HDMI‑CEC; companion apps may help.

If these options aren’t available, a universal or replacement remote from this page can be a practical solution.

Compatibility depends on your TV’s exact model number. To find a match:

1. Locate the model: Check the sticker on the back of the TV or the on‑screen settings (often in Support/About).
2. Match the listing: Open a remote’s product page and compare your model to the “compatible with” list.
3. Choose the type: Replacement remotes are typically pre‑mapped for specific models, while universal remotes cover many models with setup.
4. Confirm functions: Ensure the remote supports the features you need (power, volume, input, menu).

Use filters and descriptions on this page to narrow choices. If you’re unsure, review the seller’s return policy on the listing before purchasing.

Setup can vary by remote, but these steps generally help:

1. Install fresh batteries and point the remote at the TV with a clear line of sight.
2. Check the manual/card included or on the product page for the correct setup method.
3. Direct code entry: Enter the code for your TV model, then test power, volume, and input.
4. Auto code search: Hold the specified key combination until the TV responds; follow prompts to lock the code.
5. Learning mode (if available): Copy buttons from a working remote, one by one.
6. Test and save: Try multiple functions; try alternate codes if something doesn’t respond.

Results can vary by model and room setup; standing closer and removing obstructions can improve responsiveness.

You’ve got a few ways to get back in control:

• Use TV buttons: Most TVs have side/back buttons for power, volume, and input as a temporary fix.
• Phone control: If your phone has IR or your TV supports network control, try a compatible control app.
• Connected devices: Some streaming boxes and soundbars can control basic TV functions via HDMI‑CEC.
• Buy a replacement or universal remote: Check the compatibility list on a product page, then order online for pickup or delivery.

Before buying, confirm your TV’s exact model number to reduce setup hassles.

Both options can work—pick based on your needs:

• Replacement remote: Designed for specific TV models; often works out of the box. Great if you want familiar button layout and quick setup.
• Universal remote: Covers many brands and devices (TV, soundbar, streaming). Requires code entry or auto‑search. Best if you want one remote for multiple components.
• What to check: Compatibility list, supported functions (power, input, menu), setup method, battery type, and features like backlit keys or learning.

Use filters and the “compatible with” details on each product page to confirm a fit before purchasing.
