Some shoppers use realistic, clip-on dragonflies as a decorative way to discourage flies. While they’re not a guaranteed repellent, the lifelike look and motion can act as a visual cue in certain settings.

• Placement: Clip them near seating areas, food prep spots, trash cans, hats/backpacks, or on plant stems.
• Movement & coverage: Use multiple pieces and vary heights on stakes, planters, or umbrellas to increase visibility.
• Materials: Look for waterproof PVC wings and sturdy metal clips; some sets include small pliers for easy attachment.
• Combine methods: Pair with clean surfaces, covered food, and outdoor fans. These clips work best as part of an overall approach.
• Expectations: Results can vary based on environment and pest type.

Bringing decor inside during extreme weather can help extend its life, though care needs differ by item.

Dragonfly pieces are decorations, so a few precautions can help keep households safe.

• Small parts: Clips, springs, and screws can be choking hazards. Keep out of reach of unsupervised children and pets.
• Edges and stakes: Metal wings and garden stakes may have sharp points. Install securely and away from walkways or play areas.
• Hat clips: Attach firmly to brims or bands and avoid positioning sharp hardware near the face.
• Hanging items: Use sturdy hooks for wall art and wind chimes. Check fasteners periodically, especially after high winds.
• Intended use: These are display items, not toys. Follow any safety and care notes on the product page.

Review the listing details to confirm materials and recommended use before purchasing.

Gentle care helps keep colors and finishes looking their best season after season.

• Dust and wash: Wipe metal and glass with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Dry thoroughly to protect painted or hand-finished surfaces.
• PVC clips: Rinse wings, dry, and check clip springs for a snug hold before reattaching.
• Wind chimes: Clean with a microfiber cloth and detangle lines carefully.
• Solar accents: Switch off and wipe the panel with a soft cloth; store in a dry place during long off-seasons.
• Storage: Wrap delicate wings and store in a cool, dry container to avoid bends, chips, or scratches.

Always follow any care notes on the product page, since materials and finishes can vary.
