A coiled basket is a type of woven storage container made by wrapping and stitching materials like cotton rope, straw, or grass into a spiral shape. The coils are stacked and secured together to create sturdy, decorative baskets. These baskets are popular for organizing items in the home, such as toys, blankets, or laundry, and often feature unique patterns and textures. You’ll find coiled baskets in various sizes and colors, making them a versatile choice for adding both function and style to any room.

1. Gather materials: Choose your rope or cord and a sturdy thread or yarn for stitching.
2. Start the base: Coil the rope tightly and stitch through the coils to secure them.
3. Build the sides: Continue coiling and stitching, gradually shaping the basket upward.
4. Finish the rim: Once you reach the desired height, neatly tuck and stitch the ends.
5. Optional: Add handles or decorative touches if you like.

Making a coiled basket can be a creative project, and results may vary depending on materials and technique. Always use safe tools and work in a well-lit area.

• Rope or cord: Cotton, jute, or straw work well.
• Thread or yarn: For stitching the coils together.
• Needle: A large, blunt needle is ideal for weaving.
• Scissors: To cut materials safely.
• Optional: Fabric strips, beads, or handles for extra decoration.

Having all your supplies ready before you start can make the process smoother. Choose materials that fit your style and intended use for the basket.
