Coco liners are made from natural coconut fibers, offering several benefits for window boxes. They help with drainage, preventing waterlogged soil and root rot. The fibers allow air to circulate around plant roots, supporting healthy growth. Plus, coco liners are easy to shape and fit into different planter sizes. Many customers appreciate their eco-friendly appeal and how they keep soil contained, making window boxes look neat and tidy. If you're looking for a low-maintenance option that supports plant health, coco liners are a popular choice for outdoor planters.

Yes, you can add soil directly into a coco liner, but there are a few tips to keep in mind:

• Line the bottom with a layer of plastic or landscape fabric if you want to retain moisture longer. Just make sure to poke holes for drainage.
• Fill with potting mix rather than garden soil, since it's lighter and drains better.
• Don’t overfill—leave space at the top to prevent soil from spilling out when watering.

This setup can help your plants thrive while keeping your window box tidy.

Some plants can provide color and greenery in window boxes throughout the year. Evergreen varieties like small boxwoods, ivy, and certain ornamental grasses are popular choices. For colder climates, look for hardy perennials that tolerate frost. Mixing evergreens with seasonal flowers can keep your window box looking lively. Always check plant tags for climate suitability and sunlight needs to ensure year-round growth. If you’re unsure, ask a garden center associate for advice based on your local weather.

Coco liners typically last one to two growing seasons, depending on weather and watering habits.

• Replace when fibers break down or the liner starts sagging.
• Heavy rain, frequent watering, and direct sunlight can shorten their lifespan.
• Inspect your liner each spring and fall for signs of wear.

Coco liners can dry out quickly, especially in sunny spots. To help retain moisture:

1. Add a layer of plastic or landscape fabric inside the liner, poking holes for drainage.
2. Use water-retaining potting mix and mulch the surface to slow evaporation.
3. Water regularly, checking soil moisture with your finger.

These steps can help your plants stay hydrated and healthy in your window box.
