Hard and soft card squeegees are designed for different tasks. Hard card squeegees are great for applying vinyl wraps or window tints where you need firm pressure to smooth out bubbles and creases. Soft card squeegees, often with felt edges, are ideal for delicate surfaces or finishing touches, as they help prevent scratches and minimize the risk of damaging films or decals. Choosing between them depends on the material you’re working with and the finish you want to achieve.

To use a card squeegee for window tinting, follow these steps:

1. Clean the window thoroughly to remove dust and debris.
2. Apply the tint film according to the instructions.
3. Use the squeegee to gently press the film onto the glass, starting from the center and moving outward to push out air bubbles and excess water.
4. Work slowly and use even pressure to avoid creases.

Soft felt edge squeegees are especially helpful for this job, as they help prevent scratching the film.

Yes, many card squeegees, especially those with silicone or rubber blades, can be used for cleaning shower doors. They’re effective at removing water spots and soap residue from glass surfaces. Just make sure the squeegee is clean and free from debris to avoid scratching. After each use, rinse the squeegee and let it dry to keep it in good shape for future cleaning tasks.

To keep your squeegee working well:

• Rinse it with water after each use to remove dirt and residue.
• Store it in a dry place to prevent mold or mildew.
• Check the edges for nicks or wear—replace if needed for best results.
• Avoid using on rough surfaces that could damage the blade or felt edge.

Regular care can help your squeegee last longer and perform better on every job.

Most card squeegees with felt or soft edges are designed to be gentle on car paint and decals. They help smooth out vinyl wraps or apply decals without scratching the surface. For best results, make sure the squeegee is clean before use and avoid excessive pressure. Always follow the instructions that come with your specific squeegee and the material you’re working with to help protect your vehicle’s finish.
