Using a camber alignment tool is pretty straightforward, but it's important to follow the instructions that come with your specific tool. Generally, you'll:

1. Secure the tool to your vehicle's wheel hub or rim, making sure it's level and stable.
2. Read the camber angle displayed on the tool's gauge or digital screen.
3. If adjustments are needed, use camber bolts or alignment kits to make small changes, then recheck the angle.

Always double-check your vehicle's specifications and consider having a professional verify your work for safety and accuracy.

A camber alignment tool measures the angle of your vehicle's wheels in relation to the vertical axis. This angle, called camber, affects how your tires contact the road. Proper camber helps with even tire wear, better handling, and overall driving safety. Most tools show the angle in degrees, so you can see if your wheels are tilted inward (negative camber) or outward (positive camber) and make adjustments as needed.

Many camber alignment tools are designed for DIY use, so you can make basic adjustments at home if you have the right equipment and some mechanical know-how. You'll need a camber tool, possibly camber bolts or an alignment kit, and a safe workspace. However, for precise alignment or if you're unsure, it's a good idea to consult a professional mechanic. Proper alignment helps extend tire life and keeps your vehicle handling smoothly.

Choosing between a magnetic or digital camber tool depends on your preferences and your vehicle. Magnetic tools are easy to attach to metal wheel hubs and are simple to use for quick checks. Digital tools often provide more precise readings and may include extra features like LCD screens. If you want quick, basic measurements, a magnetic tool works well. For more detailed or frequent adjustments, a digital tool might be a better fit.

It's a good idea to check your wheel camber if you notice uneven tire wear, your vehicle pulls to one side, or after hitting a large pothole or curb. Regular checks can help prevent premature tire wear and handling issues. If you've recently installed new suspension parts or lowered your vehicle, checking camber is especially important. For everyday drivers, checking during routine tire rotations or alignments is usually enough.
