To find the right window switch for your vehicle, check your car's make, model, and year. Most product listings include compatibility details, so match these with your vehicle information. If you're unsure, look for your car's VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) and compare it with the product description. You can also bring your old switch to compare connector shapes and pin layouts. If you need extra help, Walmart's customer service can assist with fitment questions before you buy.

Toggle switches use a lever that flips up or down to turn circuits on or off, making them easy to operate by feel. Rocker switches have a flat surface that rocks back and forth, often lighting up when active. Both types are common in automotive applications, but your choice depends on your preference and the space available in your dashboard. Always check your vehicle’s requirements before choosing a switch style.

Many auto switches are designed for DIY installation, especially if you have basic tools and follow the included instructions. Before starting, disconnect your vehicle’s battery for safety. Carefully remove the old switch and note how the wiring is connected. If you’re not comfortable with electrical work or your vehicle has complex wiring, consider consulting a professional installer. Always follow safety guidelines to avoid damaging your car’s electrical system.

If your new power window switch isn’t working, check these common issues:

• Ensure the switch is compatible with your vehicle’s make and model.
• Double-check all wiring connections for secure fit.
• Inspect the fuse related to the window circuit.
• Test the window motor to rule out other problems.

If everything seems correct but the switch still doesn’t work, you may want to consult a qualified technician for further troubleshooting.

To keep your auto switches working smoothly:

• Wipe them regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and debris.
• Avoid using harsh cleaners or spraying liquids directly onto switches.
• Check for sticky or slow-moving buttons, which may indicate dirt buildup.
• If you notice any electrical issues, address them promptly to prevent further damage.

Regular care can help extend the life of your switches and keep your vehicle’s controls responsive.
