Attaching an astronaut patch is pretty straightforward. Most patches are either iron-on or sew-on. For iron-on patches, place the patch where you want it, cover it with a thin cloth, and press with a hot iron for about 15-30 seconds. Let it cool before checking if it's secure. If it's a sew-on patch, use a needle and thread to stitch around the edges. Always check the patch instructions and your garment’s care label for best results.

Absolutely! Astronaut patches can be added to backpacks, hats, jackets, jeans, and more. Just make sure the surface is clean and flat. Iron-on patches work well on fabric surfaces, while sew-on patches give extra durability for items that get a lot of use. If your backpack or hat isn’t suitable for ironing, sewing is a great alternative. This lets you personalize your gear with a space-inspired touch.

Most astronaut patches are designed for general clothing and can be safely added to kids’ garments. Look for patches with smooth, secure edges and avoid any with loose threads or sharp backing. Always follow the application instructions and check the garment’s care label. If you’re unsure, sewing the patch on can offer extra security, especially for active kids.

To keep your patched clothes looking great, turn garments inside out before washing. Use gentle cycles and avoid high heat in the dryer, as it can loosen iron-on adhesives. If the patch is sewn on, it’s more durable, but still avoid harsh detergents or bleach. Air drying helps preserve both the patch and the fabric. Always check care instructions for both the patch and the garment.

Removing or repositioning a patch depends on how it was attached. Iron-on patches may be loosened with heat, but adhesive residue can remain. Sew-on patches can be carefully unstitched and moved to a new spot. If you want flexibility, consider using patches with hook-and-loop backing. Always handle removal gently to avoid damaging your clothing.
