If you've misplaced your angle grinder key, there are a few safe alternatives you can try:

• Use adjustable pliers: Carefully grip the lock nut and turn it counterclockwise. Make sure the grinder is unplugged or the battery is removed first.
• Try a universal spanner: Some adjustable spanners or pin wrenches fit multiple grinder models and can help loosen the nut.
• Check for a spindle lock: Many grinders have a button to hold the spindle in place, making it easier to loosen the nut by hand or with another tool.

Always prioritize safety and avoid using excessive force to prevent damage to your tool.

If you don't have a pin spanner handy, you can consider these options:

• Adjustable wrench or pliers: These can sometimes grip the lock nut, but use caution to avoid slipping.
• Universal adjustable spanner: Some tools are designed to fit various nut sizes and can be a versatile addition to your toolbox.
• Homemade tool: In a pinch, some users create a makeshift spanner using sturdy nails or bolts, but this should only be done with care and proper safety gear.

Using the correct tool is always best to prevent damage or injury.

To find the right size angle grinder key, check the following:

• Measure the distance between the holes on your grinder's lock nut. Most keys specify the pin distance they fit, such as 10-46mm or 8-50mm.
• Consult your grinder's manual for the recommended spanner size.
• Look for universal or adjustable keys if you're unsure, as these can fit a range of sizes and are convenient for multiple tools.

Having the correct size helps ensure safe and easy disc changes.

If your angle grinder nut is stuck, try these steps:

• Unplug the grinder or remove the battery for safety.
• Press the spindle lock button to hold the disc in place.
• Use a spanner or adjustable wrench to turn the nut counterclockwise. If it's still tight, gently tap the wrench with a rubber mallet to loosen it.
• Apply a little penetrating oil and wait a few minutes if the nut is rusted or very tight.

Always avoid using excessive force to protect your tool and yourself.
