If you’re mailing a full A4 or US letter sheet, the “A4” envelopes shown here aren’t sized for that—they’re the 4.25 x 6.25 invitation style for 4 x 6 inserts.

• For documents, look for catalog/document envelopes or folders labeled A4/Letter size.
• Pick closures that match your task: clasp for filing, self-seal/gummed for mailing, or snap/button on plastic folders.
• Consider security-tinted, windowless options if privacy matters.

Measuring your papers (including any stack thickness) can help you pick a comfortable capacity without overstuffing.

No. “A4” on this page refers to the invitation envelope that’s about 4.25 x 6.25 inches for 4 x 6 inserts. “C4” is a different sizing system used to hold an A4 sheet flat, so it’s larger.

• Use A4 invitation envelopes for photos, RSVP cards, and small mailers.
• Choose document or catalog-sized envelopes if you need to send full sheets.
• When in doubt, match the envelope to your insert’s dimensions rather than the name alone.

They’re different—and naming can be confusing. On this page, “A4” is the invitation envelope (4.25 x 6.25 inches) for 4 x 6 cards. “A5” typically refers to a paper size that’s half of A4, and envelopes for A5 paper are sized differently (often labeled under another system).

• Measure your insert first, then choose an envelope that leaves a small clearance.
• For smaller cards/photos, A4 invitation envelopes can work well; for larger items, look for envelopes labeled to fit those dimensions.

Yes, many home printers can print on A4 invitation envelopes, but settings and feed paths vary by model.

• Set paper type to Envelope and enter the size (4.25 x 6.25 inches).
• Use a straight-through feed if available and print one test envelope first.
• Allow ink to dry fully and avoid overstuffing before printing.
• If your printer doesn’t support envelopes, consider printable address labels instead.

Checking your printer’s manual for supported envelope sizes can help reduce jams and misalignment.
