Both can work well, but the right pick depends on your laundry routine and environment.

• Plastic clothespins: Resist moisture and humidity, so they’re helpful outdoors. Many include soft, non-slip grips and stainless-steel springs to reduce rust risk. Bright colors can make sorting towels, socks, or family loads easier.
• Wooden clothespins: Offer a classic feel and a firm hold. The flat jaws can be gentle on some fabrics, but wood can swell or warp after repeated exposure to rain.

Consider where you dry (indoor rack, clothesline, pool or beach chair) and what you hang (denim vs. delicates). Checking spring material, jaw surface, and size can help you match the clip to your needs.

They’re commonly called clothespins (also “clothes pegs” or “laundry clips”). Mini plastic clothespins are popular for crafts, photo displays, party games, and light organizing, while standard or jumbo sizes are used for hanging clothes, towels, and blankets.

• Mini: Best for lightweight items and decor; typically not intended for heavy laundry.
• Standard/Jumbo: Designed for everyday drying; larger jaws can improve grip on thicker fabrics.

When browsing plastic clothespins, check size measurements, jaw style (smooth vs. padded), and spring type. These details can help you match the clip to your task without snagging or leaving marks, though results can vary by fabric and weight.

You can usually find mini plastic clothespins by searching “mini plastic clothespins” on Walmart.com and using filters to narrow results.

1. Search: Enter terms like “mini clothespins,” “small laundry clips,” or “craft clothespins.”
2. Filter: Choose relevant categories (for example, Home or Arts, Crafts & Sewing) and refine by color or pack size.
3. Check details: Review measurements in inches and intended use (craft vs. laundry) so you get the right size.
4. Availability: Options can vary by location; use pickup, delivery, or shipping to see what’s in stock near you.

Reading ratings, Q&A, and photos can provide helpful context before you add a pack to cart.

If you’re short on clothespins, a few household items can stand in, depending on fabric weight and where you’re drying.

• Clip hangers: Pant or skirt hangers with built-in clips work for many garments.
• Drying racks: Drape items over rails or mesh shelves to avoid pinch points.
• Binder or bag clips: Use smooth, clean clips; add a small fabric scrap as a buffer to reduce marks.
• Towel bar or shower rod: Drape lightweight items and allow airflow.

Test on a small, hidden area first and avoid overloading. These substitutes can help in a pinch, but grip and results depend on fabric, moisture, and airflow.

Wind can make outdoor drying tricky, but a few adjustments can improve hold.

• Choose grip: Heavy-duty, wind-resistant plastic clothespins with strong springs can help in breezy conditions.
• Pin placement: Clip along seams, waistbands, or thicker hems. Use two pins per edge for wider items.
• Fold over the line: Doubling fabric over the line increases friction without overtightening.
• Space items: Leave gaps so air flows through instead of creating a “sail.”

For bulky pieces like towels or blankets, larger clips and extra pins may be helpful. Actual performance varies with wind speed, line tension, and fabric weight.
