I love this collar! The vibrate feature is nice, so I can alert him without hurting him. Start with the beep feature, then, if no response, use the vibrate, then, if no response, the shock. Once you make it up to the shock, they'll typically respond to just the beep in the future, since they know what comes after the beep. I almost NEVER have to shock him, because he responds to the beep very well. I felt guilty buying a shock collar at first, but now that I know I don't really use that feature, I feel better about it. Also, my dog behaves better, in general, when he has his collar on, because he knows I "have the power". He's a 70-lb Doberman mix who enjoys being off-leash and with this collar, we can do that a lot more often. :)

I used the buzzer button with my 20 lb hairy mutt. She barks at the neighbor's dogs across the fence. After 3 hits at half power, she decided that not barking was ok. Will probably need a couple more applications. Didn't need to use the shock button.

I read the reviews and have to agree with this being a great value for training your dog. I have an corrective invisible fence already and I'm sure that helped with us training collar. Having a portable training tool correcting poor behaviors is a must if you travel or just what to walk around the block. It is so nice to not have a leash while walking with my best friend.
