Canon PIXMA TR4722 All-In-One, Wireless Color Inkjet Printer for Home Office Use

Full featured functions at a very budget price. Easy to setup, right out of the box. Wi-Fi feature saves not having to buy a cable to print. Feed tray is great for scanning multiple items. Very easy to program all the features. Clear and concise instruction booklet.

This is my 5th inkjet. I bought it for the sheet feeder, and printer/copying/scanning capabilities. I didn't need the fax function. This is a lot faster than my prior Canon PIXMA's. The sheet feeder, alone, to scan to create .pdf files is worth the price, alone. I archive my files so I don't have to have so much paper, which used to take 40 hours or more per year. Now, with this sheet feeder, you can start a scan and be doing other things; you don't have to keep lifting the lid on the Canon PIXMA flatbed printer/scanner. This printer also senses when you have paper in the sheet feeder vs. when you have paper on the flatbed scanner, so that is nice also. Sheet feeder aldo scans in nicely. I will caution DO NOT overfill the sheet feeder and you will have good use of this machine. The scanning/printing software is very similar to Canon PIXMA, so I greatly appreciate "keeping what works," instead of reinventing the wheel on that. Things I don't like: 1. I think Canon should make this printer "without" Fax capabilities, as few people use fax anymore. 2. I also believe the instructions should allow consumers to connect directly to a PC, because the printer doesn't even come with a cable to do that. If the Internet ever goes down, you won't have any way to print anything out -- without the cable. You can keep your old cable from an old Canon PIXMA, and it connects fine on this TR4722 printer. 3. I also liked the white/off-white color of the Canon PIXMA. This TR4722 model is black, with black ports, so if your office is dark like mine, at night it can be very hard initially to see when you're setting everything up. Instruction sheet doesn't have an adequate diagram, if you just want to plug in, and get started printing. 4. This model gives you very little ink. So I'd recommend you buy ink with this purchase. Overall, I have been very pleased with not only the value of my Canon printers over decades, but also with the engineered updates/technology they employ in new models. I believe this TR4722 model is a very good quality for the price point, is faster and has the same or better print quality that prior models. The sheet feeder is a stellar addition to Canon's affordable home/office printers, and will save people a huge amount of time (over flatbed scanners).
