Perfect for my needs as a home owner with small to medium trees to cut down or for use after a storm. I can only speak about this for light and occasional use. I wanted a chainsaw for small trees in my lawn that nothing else can cut down as they are too big, but also so if there is a storm and tree branches fall, I have a chainsaw I can use on hand. The gas ones I think may have more power and be better for frequent use, but if they sit and you do not use them the carbonator is going to clog up. That means having to run it dry if it is going to sit and then have to fill it up again when I need it. I wanted one that could just sit in between times when I need it and don't. This has good power to cut small trees and branches. The black front guard part, you pull to you and it pops, that activates it. You also push in the side buttons and then the saw button. That is what activates, multiple steps for the safety. The 2 batteries you can take off it when not using, for extra safety if you have kids or grandkids around. The battery charger has a fan, so its a little noisy when charging the batteries, but only such you hear it in the room you are in. You won't hear the fan in another room. All in all, this was perfect for my needs. I have only used it a few times, so can't speak to how long the battery set lasts per use, or long term.
