Although the number of pieces was, at first, daunting and the number of bags of bricks was a LOT, the build process was a lot of fun and the level of detail in the set was extraordinary. If I could change anything about the set, it would be to have mounted the wheels on standard Lego gauge bogeys - even if the body of the train remained the same width. I don't think it would have affected stability all that much. Even if I were to custom build track to this set's gauge however, it still lacks moving bogeys, so curved track would be impossible. All that said, it's a minor concern as the entire model is in its own right totally excellent. All I have to do now is put up a suitably hefty shelf to display it proudly in a suitably prominent place.
