Decent Metroidvania Style Game

I thought this was a decent entry in the Yars series. The Sci-Fi storyline seemed to work well with the combination of stealth and platforming action. The environment rendering was solid and the characters were interesting. The best part by far was the hacking mini-game portion, which used elements similar to the original Yars' Revenge. I'm satisfied with the purchase for the price that I paid.

cool shooter for the Switch

Yars: Recharged on the Nintendo Switch is a fun arcade-style shooter that caught my attention despite never playing the original Yars' Revenge. The twin-stick mechanics are easy to pick up but still offer a solid challenge as you chip away at shields and take down massive bosses. With 30 levels and a co-op mode, it's a great way to relax after work or even share with friends for a quick gaming session. I like the graphics and if you like similar games, you may like this one too.

Yars Rising: A superb Metroid clone

Yars Rising is a great Metroid style game! From a kicking sound track that will keep you moving through the floors of Qootech to the unique mini game hacking sections which are plentiful but never over stay there welcome, Yars Rising has it all. The loading times on Switch do take a few seconds which is a bit of a let down. Besides the permanent upgrades there are power ups that you can swap in and out on a palette to augment Emi. These power ups are not mandatory but will keep you searching the map for them as they can be really helpful. Overall I have really enjoyed this game and highly recommend it to anyone who wants a bit sized Metroid game
