2011 debut album from 2011's America's Got Talent winner. For his album, Landau collaborated with legendary Jazz, Soul and Pop producer Steve Tyrell on a songbook of Sinatra's hits from the 60s, '70s and '80s. That's Life features classic tracks such as quot;My Way,quot; quot;Ain't That a Kick in the Head,quot; quot;I've Got the World on a String,quot; quot;Fly Me to the Moon,quot; and quot;Baby It's Cold Outside.quot;
The winner of the sixth season of the NBC reality show America's Got Talent, Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. keeps things light and swinging on his 2011 debut, That's Life. A vocalist in the traditional pop style of Frank Sinatra and Harry Connick Jr., Murphy sticks to Great American Songbook standards here, including his version of "My Way," which helped secure him the top spot on America's Got Talent. Murphy also tackles such chestnuts as "Ain't That a Kick in the Head," "That's Life," "Witchcraft," "I've Got the World on a String," and others. Backed by a full big band and orchestra throughout the album, Murphy's burnished baritone voice is clearly the showcase here, and That's Life should appeal to fans who supported him on the TV show. ~ Matt Collar, Rovi
