Absolutely Mindblowing

The book turned out to be quite different (and so much better!) than what I expected. "Stronghold" is NOT a regular fantasy novel despite its flirting with the genre. Instead, it's a profound, intricately constructed parable-like story about our own world. I literally couldn't put the book down and finished it over the weekend despite its respectable length. So far, it's the best thing I've read this year.
