You can even choose from 6 different styles of buttonholes like the basic bartack style, round end and keyhole, great for menswear and outerwear. The Top Drop-in Bobbin is easy to thread and easy to see, so you won't run out of thread in the middle of a seam. Programmable Needle Up/Down is a must-have for quilting, sewing appliques and even topstitching. When you select a stitch, the optimum stitch length and width are selected for you, saving time. Customize stitches to personalize projects using adjustable stitch length and stitch width, viewable on the LCD screen. You can even set the maximum sewing speed of the machine using the Speed Control lever, slower for more intricate projects or faster for long seams on curtains or duvets; you're always in control. Take off the Removable Storage Compartment to access the Free Arm, which makes it even easier to sew around trouser hems and cuffs, children's clothing and other smaller projects.

Very nice machine
After another low priced machine I had had for many years failed, I needed to get a replacement. I didn't want to spend too much since these days I don't do that much complex sewing (although I am an experienced sewer, not a beginner). I read the positive reviews of this machine, especially at a very reasonable price, and decided to select it. So I have been using this machine for a few weeks now, and it has been performing very well -- I think I definitely made a good choice! I haven't yet had a chance to try out all the fancy stitches or functions, but for basic sewing it was extremely easy to set up and has worked without any problems thus far. I have even used it for fairly thick/multi-layer sewing, and it has handled that very well. It is quiet, feels sturdy enough, etc. So all in all I would definitely recommend this machine. (BTW, I saw some questions about a case -- note that this only comes with a cover made out of a thin plastic sheet (not 'hard', and not a case). So you will need to purchase one of these separately if you don't already have one.

Love it
Honestly I was scared to buy this, I had a singer simple and had a ton of trouble with it. But this machine is amazing!! It was well worth the money. Very easy to thread and get set up. I love the start/stop button. I don't know how to get the automatic needle threader to work, and that's my only complaint. Very happy with this purchase. I'm a beginner and it makes it so simple. I also wish they had the labels of the what the feet are that it came with.
