Shattered

Ian Mackenzie went out seeking death the night he was reborn. Consumed by grief over the death of his beloved, he becomes one of the immortal undead, a vampire. Existing throughout the decades, Ian goes through life indifferent; forever mourning the loss of a woman fate stole. Centuries later, on a chilly autumn night, Ian's world is shattered when he once again finds the woman his heart yearns for. Haunted by dreams of a place she can't name and a man she barely knows, Kennedy Fitzpatrick tries to fight her growing attraction to the enigmatic Ian Mackenzie. Happily engaged, she assumes she's experiencing an alarming, but perfectly normal, case of pre-wedding jitters. As her feelings grow more intense and lingering questions go unanswered, Kennedy begins to suspect the impossible truth. In an underworld where knowledge does not mean power but signals death, Ian must use all his resources to keep from losing Kennedy for a second time. When an ancient enemy returns to settle a score, Ian calls upon his only ally, a dark angel with pain and secrets of his own. Now with Kennedy beside him, they must choose what they are willing to risk for a second chance as they come to realize the true cost of forever.
