A Movie Favorite!

Another one of those movies that we would look forward to coming on TV. It was one of the first westerns where a bad guy was actually a good guy, helping out a poor homestead family against a cattle baron. While it is Alan Ladd's movie, a younger Jack Palance was awesome. While the movie is great, the book is better.

A timeless classic; one of the finest Westerns ever made in Hollywood. Acting, dialogue, scenery, and the details of production are outstanding. The 4:3 picture is the original aspect ration of Shane; the picture is rather soft but still fairly good. The 60th year anniversary of Shane is around the corner and it is hoped that a Blu-ray version will be issued, or at least a DVD with a much sharper picture.

favorite movie

I ORDERED THIS MOVIE FROM WALMART.COM BECAUSE I COULD NOT FIND IT IN THE STORES. THIS IS JUST ONE OF MY HUSBANDS FAVORITE MOVIES. AMONG THESE ARE JONH WAYNE AND CLINT EASTWOOD MOVIES. AS WELL AS MOSTLY WESTERN MOVIES. WE HAVE THE MOVIE ON VHS. BUT IT WILL NOT PLAY ON OUR NEW DVD/VHS PLAYER AND SMALL HD TV. FOR SOME REASON THE MOVIE SKIPS AND GOES BLACK ON THE SCREEN. SO I JUST ORDERED THE DVD FOR HIM TO WATCH ON THE NEW SMALL TV.
