it's a gas can... I haven't used it yet, but bought this for my new generator. it seems extremely sturdy. The reason I chose this one is because of the dual handles which will help for pouring. Shipping was extremely fast, and the price was better than most for a 5 gallon.

Made it right and good value

Have only filled it so far. Spout looks like there should be no issue. Will update review otherwise. Only issue in transaction was that I ordered online for same day pickup, but when I got there they said the only one they showed as having was missing the spout. On my examination it was apparent someone had removed the one it was shipped with. Probably a customer as Walmart stocks the same brand and size with and without spouts, so the sku would ring the one without a spout at a lower price. So I don't blame Walmart, as they ended up supplying me a spout after verifying that it was supposed to have it. So, kudos to Walmart and their staff for honesty and customer service.
