Star Trek (Three-Disc Special Edition) [Blu-ray]

I've seen this movie 4 times in the theater, I bought it about 15 mins ago, and I'm going to stay up and watch it for the 5th time, but this time on BLURAY! This movie was made and kept in mind the kids of a younger generation. I've seen all of the star trek movies, and I can honestly tell you that it is one of the best I've ever seen. The story line is easy to follow, special effects are amazing, the writing, the director, the music composer, are all simply amazing. I can't say enough good about this flim. Great low price.. It's the same price at the store as online. BUT - the DVD special edition is only 9.88 online, and 19.96 at the store! So if you are buying the DVD, buy online!! This special edition DOES NOT come with a dvd. Wish it had. :(

Great movie, and perhaps a new beginning for the series... Looks great in high def, better brightness and clarity then standard DVD, but I would expect with being blu-ray there would be several sound tracks to choose from. Would have been better with DTS sound as an option and even better with extended surround (7.1) instead of just 5.1 surround in either Dolby or DTS. Includes deleted scenes in the extras that seems to have been cut to keep the pace of the movie fast... so I imagine there will be a "extended" version released later, which would really be the original version before cutting it. Marketing. I haven't tried the digital copy yet but sounds like a great idea.
