Red Dead Redemption (Nintendo Switch)

I waited for this game to go on sale because I was hesitant to pay full price for a game that is not newer. After falling in love with RDR2 years ago, I have been longing to play this one and get revenge for my boy Arthur. I found it on sale and couldn't wait to get it. It arrived with in 2 days which was amazing and I was hooked. The nostalgia that I felt playing as John again was *chefs kiss*. For an older game, I still find the graphics to be very good for it's time. The story telling is very immersive and you'll find yourself striving for the next story point. It's hard though because you'll also find yourself totally immersed in this open world. Whether it's helping random strangers along the road or hunting down gold bars from a treasure map. You'll never have the same experience in an area twice either. You might find an interesting rock formation and a chest up top. As you leave, you'll be called to by a woman for help and then be killed by 3 men who pop out. It was a trap! You'll realize that you didn't save and that you need to go back for the treasure. As you head in a pack of wolves attack you before your even able to get the treasure. You fight them off but they end up killing your horse and then another one comes out of nowhere and kills you. Your pretty sure your ready this time. You're ready for the lady in distress trap and ready to fight a pack of wolves. Alas though, you get killed by a mountain lion as you get to where you just died to the wolves. This happened to me and it all happened in like 10 minutes. I couldn't help but laugh but also admire that I didn't have the same experience twice. The mark of a good game in my opinion. It adds a level of replayability to it that I love in any game. Especially if I'm paying as much as we're paying these days for games. I want a game that I want to return to, time and time again. It plays very smoothly on the Switch. The FPS is really good for being the age that it is and for the size console that your playing it on. I've had no issues with it crashing or freezing in the middle of rendering. 10/10 would recommend for anyone who enjoys open world games. I'm not someone that generally enjoys shooting games, especially using a controller but RDR is not like most games. it's not just about shooting things. It's story is part of it's greatest strength. Your not just mindlessly killing things and people to get to the next stage. Everything is fine for a reason and enriches the world and story further.
