I am a fan of vintage, older cartoons, so I bought this DVD. I do not regret buying this dvd, but at the same time I really wouldn't be missing that much if I didn't.
Two things/cons I want to discuss:
1) Splitting of Collections
I was disappointed that the Betty Boop and Popeye collections are split up. What I mean is this-- there are a total of 19 Betty Boop episodes, but 10 are on Disc1 and the last nine are on Disc2. Ideally they should all be together, but that's just my opinion. Again, the same is true for the Popeye collection.
2)PARENTAL WARNING: Not every cartoon is appropriate for children. This is especially true for Disc 2. The cartoons "The Shooting of Dan McGrew," "Les Escargots" are definetly two cartoons you will either want to not allow your child (under 13) to watch unsupervised or alone due to it's themes and language. Also, from Disc 1, The Betty Boop cartoon "Making Stars" has very strong racist overtones.
If you are a fan of vintage cartoons you may like this DVD. Otherwise, you are better off just watching today's televised cartoons for entertainment and laughs.
