Oxygen Sensor

Nice

Somewhat inconsistent product packaging, as the received sensor came without the copper antiseize pouch and instruction leaflet; instead, a light coat of silver antiseize was already applied by Denso. This sensor replaced an identical Denso sensor that failed in a 97 Civic. The failure of the old Denso sensor was subtle, as it did not impact the car's driveability; the failure was only detected after the vehicle failed its smog check and the sensor was then found to report false-rich voltage at high rpm with a live data scanner. Installation was straightforward and the new sensor worked fine. However, its longevity is questionable as the failed Denso sensor lasted only 20k miles of frequent short trips. In conclusion, still a decent value, because the original Honda sensor does cost at least five times more.
