I was given this product for free to offer my honest opinion from Mattel. First off I would have researched this product myself seeing as my kids love minecraft and stop motion, it screams gift worthy! My kids were thrilled from the moment I pulled it out of the box, they could not wait to open it. They had no prior knowledge that this kit existed, so big shouts of cheers rang thru the house. I have 4 kids from age 14 - 4 and they all loved playing with this. My older two, age 14 and 12 are very familiar with stop motion and developed some really awesome videos. With the helpful grid on the playset stage and the device stand their videos were near streamless. The older 2 kids would have liked to see possibly a fold out edge to shelter the eyes from the out side frame, as we were either to close or to far from the board set. They were pretty particular in getting the scene full frame. My 9 year old was happy with it and had no complaints about this product. He is more of a enthusiast of stop motion so he was happy with just being able to make his first movie. He even went thru the provided tutorial on the app. My four year old loved it also, even though I would not recommend this product for younger kids. She just used her imagination and wanted to be like her brothers and built with the blocks and moved the characters around. The accessories (sword, ax, and torch) are extremely small and easy to misplace. Over all Im thrilled with this and more importantly my kids love it . We have owned it for a week so far and my kids are still interested in the minecraft stop motion movie creator kit. They spent half of their weekend in the room making videos and sharing them with their friends. We played with the kit as a character set, as well as with stop motion, using a Ipad mini 2 w minecraft stop-motion app. It offers a good variety of figures, blocks and 2 double sided backgrounds. They will be seeking out more characters and especially would like to see more accessories. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
