Everything I wanted and more

Kathy Mattea was one of my favorite female country artists of the 90's. All of her songs were great and she had a great voice. All her singles were classics like "18 Wheels and a Dozen Roses" "Time Passes By" " Lonesome Standard Time" Walking Away a Winner" and "Standing Knee Deep in A River (Dying of Thirst). The song Standing Knee Deep in a River applies to more people than ever today. I love to this collection and I highly recommend this for any fan of hers. I give it a 10 out of 10.

With a voice as clear as a bell...

Kathy Mattea has a wonderful voice! Her style reminds me of Karen Carpenter. Both deliver the lyrics so that you can understand every word, yet their voices are distinct and so unique. Since I could not find Mattea in the stores, I went online and Wal-Mart has the best prices and a good selection. One of Mattea's songs, "Standing Knee Keep in a River" is such a true commentary on some poeple's lives. This CD also has many fun songs, as well. I have several of her albums on cassette, but needed to have the CDs as well to play in the car. "Standing..." is one that I usually replay again and again. Love to sing along to that one!!
